Company History

Business Development

1952

Established: Established as the Spring Department within Maruho Shoten Co., Ltd. (now Maruho Co., Ltd.) in Karamono-cho, Higashi-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture.

1953

I purchased one 5-foot lathe.: We manufactured a φ5.89mm compression spring for X-rays.

1954

Maruho Spring Industry Co., Ltd. was established.: Maruho Spring Industry Co., Ltd. began operations with a capital of 50 yen and 8 employees.

1957

I bought an automatic coiling machine.

1965

Construction of the Kameoka factory: Construction of the Kameoka Factory in Yoshikawa-cho, Kameoka City, Kyoto Prefecture (Phase 1 construction) has commenced.

1974

Opened Tokyo Sales Office

Opened Osaka Sales Office

1975

Kameoka Spring Co., Ltd. was established.

1977

Obtaining a license for the manufacture of medical devices: We received a license and certification for the manufacture of medical devices from the Minister of Health and Welfare (now the Minister of Health, Labour and Welfare).

1984

First flat plate pressure forming machine delivered.: Flat plate pressure forming/roller seal type (2000 tablets) Unit 1 delivered.

1985

A project has been launched to commercialize shape memory alloys (SMA).

1987

Developed PF-D1: We have developed a small blister pack, PF-D1 (500 tablets).
Supplied to a major pharmaceutical manufacturer

1987

Himeji Branch Office Opened: Renamed Himeji Sales Office in 1994.

1988

Developed PF-E2: We have developed PF-E2 (3000 tablets), the first blister pack in Japan equipped with a computer-controlled servo.

The Engineering Department (now the Medical Device Parts Division) was established.: The Technical Department (now the Medical Device Parts Division) was established as an independent department, with its origins in a project to commercialize shape memory alloys.

1990

The Machinery Department (now the Machinery Business Division) was established.: Established as an independent division specializing in the development and sales of blister packaging machines.

1994

Medical approval has been granted for an ultrasonic torque wire used in gastroscopy.

1997

Recipient of the Kyoto Prefecture Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Excellent Technology Award and the Excellent Engineer Award.: Four individuals received the Kyoto Prefecture Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Excellent Technology Award and the Excellent Engineer Award.

1997

We developed the PF-H1000 and PF-H6000.

1998

Developed the PF-H2000

2000

Mnet Membership Service Launched

Medical approval has been granted for a device that uses a torque coil to be inserted into the cardiovascular system.

2001

Acquired ISO14001 certification

We have started production of edgewise coils.

Production of coiled wave springs has begun.

Developed the PF-H3000

Acquired ISO9001 certification: Updated to the 2000 version.

Patent acquisition: We have obtained patents related to torque-transmitting tubes and endoscopes.

Additional categories for medical device repair business licenses.

2007

Construction of the Shinkoetsu Factory: The new Koetsu factory has been completed and is in operation in Sonobe-cho, Nantan City, Kyoto Prefecture.

2010

Recipient of the Kyoto Prefecture Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Technology Award: We have developed composite metal processing technology for advanced micro-medical applications, based on the metal plastic deformation technology cultivated through our experience with springs.

Establishment of compliance code of conduct

2010

We have developed the SUP-600 suppository and liquid filling and packaging machine.: We have developed the world's highest-capacity suppository and liquid filling and packaging machine, the SUP-600 (600 containers/minute).

2013

Develop a Business Continuity Plan (BCP): We have developed a Business Continuity Plan (BCP) to prepare for disasters and emergencies.

2013

We developed the Lab Pack LP-150.

2014

Development of a device capable of handling highly pharmacologically active substances: We developed a machine for handling highly active pharmaceutical ingredients with a water-washable tablet filling section and delivered it to a major generic drug manufacturer (patent obtained).

2014

Co-founded Maruho Hatsujyo Innovations, Inc.: We have jointly established Maruho Hatsujyo Innovations, Inc. in the United States with Maruho Corporation.

EAGLE Rx was developed.: We have developed the EAGLE Rx (model: PF-US1), a PTP machine compatible with North America.

Maruho Hatsujyo (Thailand) Co., Ltd. was established.: We have established Maruho Hatsujyo (Thailand) Co., Ltd. in the Kingdom of Thailand.
In response to the accelerating pace of our industry and our focus on globalization, we have established our first overseas base.

Relucent Metals Solutions, Inc. becomes a subsidiary.: We have acquired Relucent Metals Solutions, Inc. (RMS) as a subsidiary in the United States.

2018

Nissho Precision Pte. Ltd. becomes a subsidiary.: We have acquired Nissho Precision Pte. Ltd. as a subsidiary in Singapore.

Relucent Plastics Solutions, Inc. (RPS) becomes a subsidiary.: We have acquired Relucent Plastics Solutions, Inc. (RPS) as a subsidiary in the United States.

Osaka Sales Office Relocation

Selected as a "Regional Future-Leading Company": Selected by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry as a "regional future leader".

2018

EAGLE MULTI was developed.: We have developed a small, flat blister pack called EAGLE MULTI (model: PFS-150).

2019

EAGLE series announced: We have announced the EAGLE series of compact blister packaging machines.

2019

Established PT. Maruho Hatsujyo Batam (MHB): We have established PT. Maruho Hatsujyo Batam (MHB) in Batam, Indonesia.

2020

Acquired ISO13485 certification: Updated to the 2016 version.

2020

Co-developed the Ingrown Toenail Master: We have jointly developed the ingrown toenail correction device "Ingrown Toenail Meister" with Maruho Co., Ltd.

2022

We developed the EAGLE 200.: We have developed the integrated, compact blister pack EAGLE 200 (2000 tablets).

Maruho Machinery Solutions, Inc. (MMS) will be spun off as a separate company.: Maruho Machinery Solutions, Inc. (MMS) has been spun off from Maruho Hatsujyo Innovations, Inc.

Company name changed to Maruho Hatsujyo Asia Pte. Ltd. (MHA): Nissho Precision Pte. Ltd. has changed its company name to Maruho Hatsujyo Asia Pte. Ltd. (MHA).
